September

This year my kids and I created the Summer Bucket List of Fun. We used miles and miles of Washi Tape to stick our list to the wall. I felt like last summer sort of eclipsed us. There wasn’t enough time spent at the beach, having picnics and enjoying the longer, warmer days.

This year, I wanted to be sure we all felt like we had a  fair shake at enjoying the very best the summer has to offer.

We created a lot of memories with our Bucket List and with summer holidays having come to an end and back packs and lunch bags filling the front hall, I’ve become rather attached to those bits of paper. They represent a moment in time.

Age 7-turning-8 and age 4 1/2.

It’s the moments in time that define us. And so I find it hard to simply rip it down and toss not just the Bucket List, but also the ticket stubs jammed in my wallet and the bits and pieces that made up a great eight weeks.  So, as I take down the list, I’ll collect all those bits and pieces and print out a few photographs taken over the summer. I’ll put them in a shoe box that I’ve decorated.

Check back in a couple of weeks and I’ll post a photo of what it all looks like. As the now 8 year old said just this morning, it still feels like summer outside and that means we can still work on The List.
