Westfest

is happening this weekend and if the past ten years is any indication, the village will be hoppin’!!

The streets are shut to car traffic and festival goers from near and far flood the neighbourhood. Free concerts begin Friday night – Ashley McIsaac takes the stage Saturday night and I definitely want to see this one!

You’ll find many merchants take this chance to clear out a bit of inventory. I love making room for new ideas and products that are coming in the next couple of months.

I was chatting with some of my neighbours and it looks everybody has a plan! The Cupcake Lounge (thecupcakelounge.com) will feature their fabulous ice cream sandwiches, ice cream cupcakes and mini cupcakes. As always, Kitchenalia (www.kitchenalia.ca) delivers with an Artisan Food Fare on Saturday and cookie decorating on Sunday.

The Cuckoos Nest and Dreamweaver are featuring deep discounts, Mrs. Tiggy Winkles always has something  fabulous like a giant Jenga game or massive bubble blowing.

If I can sneak out to the patio at The Savoy (www.savoybrasserie.com) for a quick drink, I’ll be a happy girl!  I definitely want to pop in to WallSpace (www.wallspacegallery.ca ) for a Trunk Show featuring Rachel Norman. I have a couple of her pieces and I love them.
