It was around this time seven years ago that it was all coming together and I was purchasing The Village Quire. This time of year I tend to sit back and take a breath and consider how fortunate I am to have this life. I get to live and work in the same neighbourhood. My kids go to school just up the road, we only need one car and anything I need to pick up for dinner is easy to grab on my way home. Pretty nice, don’t you think?
But I have digressed. What I really wanted to say is this…
In the six-almost-seven-years of being in business, what I have learned is that people shop with intention. Whether you are woman who comes into see what she might want to pick up or a man who comes in with a specific purpose, we are all make mindful purchases. At least that is what happens most often at The Village Quire.
Most people are looking for the perfect card. Sometimes you are looking for a little gift to say thanks for that little something someone did. With that in mind, I like to think we stock cards and gifts with that same intention.
When I first bought the store, I think I stocked pretty things but, almost seven years on, I think we know each other better. And now I make purchases because I know you visit friends at the lake and you like to cross-country ski. Fur Friends are important to you and if it isn’t a glass of wine or a beer that you look forward to, then it is tea and cookies or a fresh, hot coffee.
I think we’ve grown together 😉
Happy February, everybody! Whether you are digging the snow or counting down until we dig out of the cold, I hope the next couple of months find you exactly where you want to be.
