If you look up Alice on Facebook, she will casually tell you she designs cards using old photos, books and other bits of ephemera. But if you’ve read her hilarious cards you’ll know that there isn’t anything effortless about her creations.

She takes bits of newspaper, cut outs from vintage Eaton catalogs and old family photos and layers quotes on top. The messages will leave you in stitches or bring you to tears but we particularly enjoy the cards with a bit of sass.

Alice has a loyal following in the Ottawa arts community. Her talents reach beyond the cards, mugs and magnets we stock at the store to include charm necklaces, mosaics and reclaimed, painted chairs. Her body of work tells a story but it’s her cards that are life-affirming….even if they do bite, just a little 😉
