I don’t know what’s in the works for Mother’s Day this year but I know it will have something to do with breakfast in bed, lots of kisses and cuddles and flowers. And probably a nap. I miss naps. They’ve been hard to come by since we had kids. I really like naps in early spring with the window open and snuggled under the covers. A nap on Mother’s Day seems highly appropriate.

Mother’s Day at the store is pretty. All kinds of Moms to be celebrated…new Moms, Moms-to-Be, stay-at-home Moms, tired Moms, crazy Moms, working Moms, elderly Moms. All kinds of Moms with loved ones wanting to mark the occasion.

I know at our house, Mother’s Day is a pretty exciting day for my kids. They will be up at dawn scrambling away at last minute cards or paper flowers. And there will be smoothies or muffins. And the Dad will be sure there will be coffee. Because, as a Mom of young kids, my Mother’s Day will begin 10 minutes after dawn. And I can’t wait.
