….but we’re halfway through August and you know what that means.
September.
I promise I am not wishing these hot, sticky days away. I love the heat because it reminds me that the cold will come. In Ottawa we get to experience it all and the extreme heat of these past days remind me that before we know it, I’ll be digging out mittens and scarves.
But before any of that, comes those first days of school. And getting myself and my kids organized is something I am thinking about. Like a lot of parents, I am full of hope that first month. Lunches packed the night before, smooth transitions from dinner to homework to bed. After school activities begin to fill in, play dates or, rather, *hang outs* as my six-almost-seven-year-old now calls them, begin happening.
My two school age children are at an age where they pick up on everything. And I want to set them up for happy days. That’s what I like about Lunch Mail by Compendium. They are little notes of encouragement and appreciation. We’re always reminding our kids to say please and thank you and to remind them to be nice to their friends.
What if we, as parents, took our own advice and took a minute to say thanks to those little people we live with?? What if we said more then “be nice”???
These notes are perfect to drop in a lunchbox. They also work nicely for teachers and caregivers.
A box is $9.95 and we’ll post examples from time to time so you can get an idea what they say.
Each design contains 24 different messages that you pop open along a perforated edge.
